He Dumped Me – Now What Do I Do

Going through a break up is one of the worst things we go through. You can, however, take some small comfort in knowing that you are not alone. Yet, all of the feelings you are having make it hard to cope. That's normal too. Even though you have some negative feelings toward your ex boyfriend and you're saying, "he dumped me", you want to somehow move on with your life so you can return to some sense of normalcy.

The main thing to keep in mind is that a break up, no matter how awful, is only a temporary thing; a single point in time. When you think about it, the actual amount of time the break up lasted took much less to happen than the things leading up to the break up, and all of the time after the break up. So, why spend so much of your time today worrying about what is really nothing more than a brief flash? You have you r whole life ahead of you, but you can't enjoy it if you're living in the past.

Now that you have a better perspective on what the break up means, you have a decision to make. You have to decide whether you want to try to work things out after he dumped you, or if you just want to get used to not having him in your life. This is not a decision you should take lightly.

Trying to get him back means you're going to have to invest some time in working things out. And there is always the possibility that he won't be interested. If that happens then you have just wasted your time on something that wasn't going to happen. However, most relationships can be saved, and you may only feel happy once the two of you are back together.

Moving on with your life is always an option, too. The downside is that you may spend the rest of your life saying things like, "he dumped me, so I let him go, but I wonder what would have happened if I had only tried". These are the kinds of thoughts that can haunt you for a long time, and that's one reason why moving on may not be the best option. But, by moving on you will be living in the present and focusing on your own future; a future you want to create on your terms.

It won't be an easy decision, and it shouldn't be. After all, your decision will not only have an effect on your life, but also on the life of your ex as well. Whatever path you ultimately take, it's a good idea to get additional help from those who have experience in the area and can show you how to do it successfully. By making the decision, no matter what it is, you will be regaining control of your life, and that's always a good thing…especially after a break up.
