How To Shape An Eyebrow – Dont Be To Critical

We know that we all have different facial shapes and features. One of the most easily changed, or enhanced, is the shape of your eyebrows. Your eyebrows have their own unique shape and arch and if you want to learn how to shape an eyebrow you can look no further than the nearest mirror.

Many people think that to learn how to shape an eyebrow also means they can completely reshape that eyebrow. In most cases you are much better off working with what you have.

This is about shaping, not re-shaping. Try to work within the natural shape of your eyebrows but just perfect it a little bit.

For example, many of us will notice some "scraggly" eyebrow hairs above, below or to the side of the main eyebrow. For the most part, this is what you want to get rid of. It's not about totally remaking the shape of your eyebrow but rather enhancing what you already have and removing any "overflow".

So, the first thing you need to do is have the proper tools handy. You can pluck your eyebrows with tweezers or you can use hot wax. Both methods work well, if you know what you are doing, it's really mostly just about preference.

Next, having a lighted and magnifying mirror handy will make the process easier. This will actually help in two ways: for one thing you will (obviously) be able to see better and for another, you can take a portable magnifying mirror anywhere in your home so you can work on your eyebrows in the room that has the best natural light.

Once you have your location and tools ready to go, look at yourself in the mirror. Concentrate on waxing your brows only to remove any excess hair above and below the main brow line. Don't try to reshape them, you are better off leaving that to a professional if that is what you want.

The same thing applies to plucking your eyebrows, concentrate on getting rid of any excess hairs but not so much on making changes to the overall line of the eyebrow.

If your eyebrow hair is overly long you may want to trim it. To do that, simply take a comb and run it through the eyebrow. Stop right at the end of the hair, while there is still some hair in the comb. Leave some hair overhang the edge of the comb and clip that off. Simple!

Sometimes we have eyebrows that are too thick, at least according to us. If that is your case you can also use the same method to make your eyebrows a little thinner. Just do the same steps but instead of waxing or plucking the "excess" hair above or below the main brow line, you can actually include a little bit of the main brow line.

One word of caution; if you get too carried away with one brow you will have to do the same thing on the other side. Make sure that when you are thinning your eyebrows you go very slowly and only take a small amount at a time.

Most of us are overly critical of our own appearance. Many times people think that there is something wrong with the shape or thickness of their eyebrows when the eyebrows actually fit very well into the overall shape of the face.

If you think that you must learn how to shape an eyebrow my advice would be to simply concentrate on shaping and not reshaping.

How To Remove Birthmarks-One In Ten Babies Born With Bithmarks

Birthmarks can be troublesome for anyone that has one especially if it can be seen by others. If you have one and need to know how to remove birthmarks the best place for you to start is by talking to your doctor.

Your doctor may refer you to a dermatologist. A dermatologist is a skin specialist who can give you the best information on how to remove birthmarks. Your family doctor was probably the one to tell you what type of birthmark you have since he was probably there when you were born. So you may have had that information all along and now need to investigate further in getting rid of the birthmark.

One in ten newborns are born with some type of birthmark. Some birthmarks show up a day or two, or sometimes a week, later. Usually they are benign Which means that they do not cause any problems except cosmetically. If you can live with the stares then just leave it.

If at any time your birthmark changes size, color or texture and starts to itch, feel tender to the touch make an appointment with your doctor and have it checked out to make sure there is still nothing to worry about. Your doctor may have to take a biopsy to rule out anything dangerous like cancer. Try not to worry when waiting for the results and have some one you trust close at hand to reassure you.

Some birthmarks are called cavernous hemangiomas and can be very dangerous, especially of they are on and internal organ. They can cause hemorrhage and death if they rupture and are not treated immediately. Sometimes cavernous hemangiomas can impede the normal function of the body, like your vision. What I mean is if the birthmark is on your face and includes the eyelid, the eyelid may not form correctly and impede the development of your vision. Not to mention just being in the way of seeing correctly.

Before you decide to get rid of your birthmark, talk to the dermatologist and see of there will be long term scarring or any other deformity from having it removed. If there is or will be then you may want to reconsider the removal. If it is not causing you any trouble then why not just let things be like they have been your whole life and leave it alone.

Understand, too, that if you do choose to have it removed that your insurance company may not approve the removal. They may consider the procedure to be cosmetic in nature and not approve the treatment at all. Then you would be stuck paying the entire bill yourself.
Although if the birthmark does turn out to be dangerous and the biopsy comes back positive then make sure your doctor documents everything so the insurance company will approve the treatment and removal to ensure that you remain healthy.

Port wine stains are birthmarks that are being successfully treated and removed using lasers. The use of lasers can drastically improve the appearance of PWS, or port wine stains. The treatment is usually broken up into several treatments over time to get the best effect. Lasers are the best procedure and treatment for how to remove birthmarks.

How To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks On Thighs

Let's talk about how to get rid of stretch marks on thighs. If you have stretch marks then you already know that they are unsightly. Called striae, they form when the skin is stretched for a long time due to pregnancy, being overweight then losing the weight, or even bulking up by working out. Some teens can get them if they have a major growth spurt.

They start out looking almost like incisions in your skin that haven't healed yet. They can be red or purple gradually fading to white or even a silvery color.

Although there are many reasons someone can get them we are here to talk about how to get rid of stretch marks on your thighs. You have to know that, just like with any other type of scar, stretch marks will never entirely go away but there are things that you can do to decrease their appearance to enhance yours.

Depending on the route you want to take, you can treat them with over the counter creams and lotions that will help soften the skin. There are even some that deal directly with scarring and may be good things to try. Having never used these products I can't give you any type of testimonial about them. Either talk to someone who has used them or speak with your doctor.

You doctor may have her own ideas about what to use that will help so if you are unsure of where to start they may be the best place to start. I am sure that if they do not think the over the counter creams and lotions can help they will prescribe something that they think will. Remember to check on pricing with the prescribed medications, they may be quite expensive.

Over the counter creams and lotions may be your best bet. Softening the skin and keeping it that way will lessen the look of the stretch marks over time. It will not happen over night. If you apply the creams twice a day you should start to see some improvement in about four weeks, so do not get discouraged, just keep at it.

If you have some money in savings, and your doctor thinks the stretch marks are bad enough, then talk to them about dermabrasion treatments or chemical peels that can reduce the look of stretch marks. Have your doctor refer you to a board certified plastic surgeon and call for a consult.

The surgeon will outline all of your options and you can then make your decision as to which one is the best for you. These procedures are considered cosmetic by your insurance company and they will not cover them. So only do this if you have the money or can save up to have something done.

The last thing I want to talk about is, your diet. If you change your diet and start eating foods that help heal your skin, like foods rich in vitamins A,C, and E and the mineral Zinc and drink a lot of water you may see some differences in how your skin looks, too. These essential nutrients help skin heal and become healthy and water keeps you hydrated. Follow these suggestions on how to get rid of stretch marks on your thighs and you should have no problems.

How To Avoid Facial Hair Growth

Hair is something we all have but some of us have more than others. It can become a problem for some people when they have excess hair over their body and particularly on their face. Hair color, hair loss and how much hair we have all come down to genetics. Some people will have dark, thick hair and others will have light, finer hair. When you have facial hair growth, the color and thickness of your hair can make a difference as to how visible it is. The good news is that you can learn how to avoid facial hair growth.

There are many options available these days to get rid of unwanted facial hair. Shaving it off with a razor is no longer the only option; there are many ways of getting rid of that hair. Using a razor is actually probably one of the worst methods for removing facial hair.

Let's take a look at some of the methods you can use to get rid of facial hair and have a smooth, hairless face again.

1. Shaving. As mentioned already, shaving is one option of removing facial hair. The problem with shaving is that you will get rapid regrowth and possibly even razor burn. For women in particular, shaving is not the best method for removing hair from the face.

2. Tweezers. Using tweezers you pull the hair out by the root so it takes much longer to grow back than it does with shaving. It can be a little painful though and can be time consuming. Tweezers are fine for removing small areas of hair like on the eyebrows, or stray lip or chin hair.

3. Waxing. Waxing works in the same way as using tweezers in that it removes the hair from the root. Wax is much quicker though and can be used on larger areas. You will remove a lot of hair in one wax strip so it is a lot faster than using tweezers and pulling hairs out individually. There are a lot of different waxing products available from the supermarket or pharmacy. You should try wax removal on a small area of skin to see if you have any reaction before using it on larger areas.

4. Depilatory gels. These gels work on the hair shaft and affect them in such a way that makes them easier to remove. These do work really well but the downside is that they contain many harsh chemicals that can irritate the skin. You should try the gel on a small area of skin to begin with to make sure that you don't have a reaction to the chemicals. You should always follow the directions carefully and only use a depilatory that is created specifically for the face.

5. Electrolysis. Electrolysis will remove hair permanently so is a good choice for long term facial hair removal. This method sends an electrical current through the hair shaft killing the hair so it doesn't regrow. Electrolysis can be expensive and it is time consuming as each hair follicle needs to be done individually. You may need several treatments to remove all the hair.

6. Laser treatment. You will need to visit a specialist for laser treatment. This can also be very expensive and time consuming and may not be as permanent as electrolysis. This is a treatment that you really need to do some research on and always as a lot of questions so you know what is involved before going ahead.

With all these different methods available you can avoid facial hair growth, although some methods are more effective than others for long term results. Depending on the severity of your hair growth will determine which method you may need to use, so do some research and learn about each method and what they can do for you.

How To Age Gracefully

No matter what we do to slow it down, the calendar is always moving forward. Through the ages, people have fought aging with various concoctions, only to have eternal youth escape them. Then you have the people who try too hard to look younger and only end up looking foolish in the process. Perhaps neither of those accurately describes you, but either way, all you want to know is how to age gracefully.

'Gracefully' is a good word to use. It implies that you will do what you can to look your best, no matter what age you are. That's a lot better than overdoing it and looking ridiculous because of it. With that in mind, here are some tips for how to age gracefully.

1. Treat your skin well. Your skin is what people notice right away, and is the biggest indicator of your perceived age to most people. Perhaps you haven't taken the best care of your skin over the years, but it's never too late to start. There are several things you can do to slow down the aging process of the skin, and even reverse it to some extent. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside, and use moisturizers (those with humectants are best) to hydrate from the outside. It's okay to get some sun, but use a sunblock and avoid overexposure. Oh, and if you smoke, then it's time to quit.

2. Avoid plastic surgery. Have you ever seen celebrities who have had too much "work" done on their faces? It doesn't look natural, and in a lot of cases they end up looking worse than they did before. (There are even websites devoted to the topic of bad plastic surgeries). Even a little Botox or a bit of a face lift can make you look strange. The problem is that you could be convinced a cosmetic procedure has made you look younger, but in reality everybody is talking behind your back.

3. Smile. Having a good attitude is a big part of how to age gracefully. We all know younger people who act "old", and we know older people that act "young". If you pay attention, you will notice that it almost always comes down to the person's attitude. The phrase "cranky old man" can apply to anyone of any age–male or female–but it doesn't have to apply to you. Learn to love life for what it is, take pleasure in the simple things, and cut people some slack; after all, we're all human.

4. Stay healthy. Some elements of your health will always be beyond your control, but most of it is up to you. People are staying healthier longer, and so can you. Take your health seriously, eat right and exercise. Those few things are also a key to how to age gracefully.

How Do You Choose Baby Skin Care Products

Congratulations on your new baby. Now he or she has arrived, you are probably wondering what type of baby skin care products you should be buying. Or perhaps baby has not yet arrived but you are getting organised.

Your baby's skin is very delicate and needs to be handled with care. In the few couple of weeks you are probably best not using anything other than warm water and cotton wool. However, your baby may suffer with diaper rash so you might want to use some cream when changing his diaper. I would suggest that you use a hypo-allergenic cream specially formulated for newborns as it is less likely to cause a skin reaction.

The best care for nappy rash is to let the skin breath so try leaving baby without a diaper for about twenty minutes. This will get rid of most nappy rashes as will changing his diaper more often. You may want to put baby lying on a large towel though as an accident is very likely seeing they are not yet potty trained!

You may also want to consider using only organic baby skin care products. These are a little more expensive but are usually more gentle unless your child is allergic to one of the natural ingredients. Avoid perfumed products as although they smell lovely, they are very likely to upset the delicate skin.

One thing to bear in mind is that your baby is born with skin that wrinkles easily. This does not mean that they need to be covered in moisturiser. It will settle down completely naturally if left alone. If you have a family history of eczema, then your baby is more likely to have an allergic reaction so it is wise to use the appropriate products.

I know that budget can be an issue when you have a baby but I would suggest you stay away from the cheap own brand supermarket products. You don't need the most expensive skin care range for your offspring – the middle of the range selection will do fine. If money is an issue, remember that baby won't remember what you dressed him in so he doesn't need five new outfits a day. He may need to be changed five times but he won't protest if you use all in one outfits for the first year or so.

My son got severe cradle cap when he was about five months old. Don't be afraid if your child gets it as despite its appearance it is not dangerous to baby. What can be harmful is mothers who insist on picking off the brown crusts as this can easily cause an infection. Instead, gently warm a little olive oil and massage it into baby's head morning and evening. He may not smell the nicest but the cradle cap will lift off really easily when you gently rub the affected area with a towel.

Baby skin care products will keep your baby smiling and happy. The best sound in the world is a baby laughing – just you wait and see!

Home Remedy Treatments For Eczema

Eczema is a very common skin condition with thousands of people worldwide suffering from this condition. Home remedy treatments have been quite popular in helping to treat the symptoms of eczema. Eczema will vary in severity from person to person and can take many forms with most being quite itchy and not all that attractive.

Eczema generally appears as a red rash on the skin and can be very dry and flakey. In some severe case eczema can form painful blisters. Although it doesn't really sound that bad to have a bit of a rash, some sufferers will have it quite severe to an extent that it can cause bleeding every time something touches their skin.

It can be very painful for an eczema sufferer to do the dishes as the water can irritate the skin as well as the detergent. Washcloths and sponges can be quite painful to use. Some soaps and laundry powders can make the condition much worse. Eczema can affect people's lives quite drastically and when medications have failed, they may turn to home remedy treatments to treat their condition.

There is no cure for eczema so it is more a matter of controlling the symptoms of the condition. Prescribed medications and visits to the doctor over the years can become very expensive. Using home remedies can save money as well as preventing any unwanted side effects that prescribed medications can have.

When using home remedies you should make sure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients you are using. Although home remedies use natural ingredients some people may still be allergic to them and you don't want anything that will make your skin condition any worse. Many natural products have healing attributes that can help to reduce the itching and rash of eczema.

Honey is one home remedy that is quite effective in treating eczema. You will need to mix honey with another ingredient such as olive oil or an unscented lotion, this will help the skin to absorb the honey.

Coconut oil is another home remedy that helps to moisturize the skin and reduce the dryness and flakiness of the skin. It also leaves you smelling good.

Having a bath with natural ingredients is a great way to relax and at the same time moisturize and soothe the skin. An oatmeal bath is very effective. Honey or coconut oil added to the bath water is also quite effective. These remedies have been used for many years to treat eczema and other skin conditions and are great for children because they are sensitive and safe.

Another home remedy is to go out into the sun. The UV rays of the sun have natural healing powers and although you don't want to be in the sun long enough to get burnt, some time in the sun can definitely help with your eczema symptoms. Tanning salons can also be useful if the weather is not good enough to go outside and bask in the sun.

The Dead Sea has been popular for people to treat many illnesses and its main healing component is actually the sea salt. You can copy this method in your own home by adding some sea salt to a warm bath. This can help to reduce the itchiness of eczema and the rash. You may need to try some different home remedy treatments for eczema until you try one that works for you.

Hide Stretchmarks So Noone Can See

Your skin is the largest organ of your body and because it is on the outside it is the first thing people see so, how do you hide stretchmarks or other skin imperfections? One way is to use concealers.

The problem with a lot of the concealers you can buy over the counter, though, is that they are heavy and usually end up caking in your wrinkles and lines making you look even more hideous than you did without it. Just kidding about the hideous part. But they can make you look worse than you would with nothing at all.

If you are trying to hide stretchmarks with a concealer then the problem would be doing so without getting the stuff all over your clothes. You could just be content to cover them up with the clothes you wear. Styles are such that layering is very in these days and that can be very useful if you are trying to cover something up like an extra bulge or even stretch marks.

There is a product called Smart Cover and it is a concealer that will cover just about anything flawlessly. Once you put it on it stays on and will not come off until you take it off. It can cover a multitude of sins including stretch marks, blemishes and even freckles. It is available on the internet for around $30.

Another product that I found during my research on this subject is something called Bio-Oil. Bio-Oil is intended to reduce the appearance of stretch marks by rubbing it into the skin twice a day for 3 months, minimum. Safe to use during your pregnancy after the beginning of the second trimester, it can help prevent the stretch marks from starting by keeping the skin soft and supple.

Anyone can use Bio-Oil, pregnant women, weight lifters, people who have gained weight and even teenagers who have sprouted like weeds and grown six inches in a year. The odds that you will develop stretch marks depends on several factors. Age, because the older you get the less collagen and elastin is produced; skin type, because those with drier skin will develop them more easily; race, because the fairer you are the more prone to stretch marks you are.

Diet and hydration status also play a big role in the formation of stretch marks. If you do not get the recommended daily allowances of some vital nutrients and you do not drink enough water every day then you are also more prone to the development of stretch marks. These factors have to continually occur over some time to have the adverse effects and if this is your case stretch marks may be the least of your worries.

Bio-Oil is available for purchase over the counter at any of your favorite pharmacies, discount stores or grocery stores for under $20 for a four ounce bottle.

So, to hide stretchmarks you can use these products or do some more research and find some other products. I profiled these two here because they seem like they would be very effective and were very reasonably priced.

Get Perfect Eyebrow Shape Everytime And Look Beautiful

There are a few things you can do to get perfect eyebrow shape for your face. Some of them will cost and some of them will be very cheap. It's up to you to decide how much you want to do yourself and what method you want to use.

If you are willing to pay to have someone do it for you, you can most likely get perfect eyebrow shape for a small fee. How much the fee will be will be determined by where you live as well as the type of salon you go to.

For example if you go to a spa you will most likely pay a lot more for some eyebrow waxing than you would if you just had it done at the hair salon where you get your hair cut, colored or styled.

No matter where you decide to go, it may be worth it to have someone who has the right training and tools to do it for you. It can save you time and may make your eyebrows look even better than they do now.

Even so, if you want the job done right and done as quickly as possible you might be better off going to someplace where a professional could do it for you.

If you want to do it yourself your best bets are either plucking the unwanted hairs with tweezers or waxing them with a home waxing kit.

Both of these methods will produce long lasting results since you are actually removing the root of the hair. By doing it this way it will take about six to eight weeks to grow back. You don't have to mess with it all that often which is what most of us prefer.

To get it done right you should make sure that take a few things into consideration. For example, you want to make sure you have a lighted spot and a magnifying mirror.

Also, making sure that your face and eyebrows are clean and clear of oils will help. If you find that your eyebrows are too long in length you can easily take a sharp pair of scissors and trim off the length.

Don't go too crazy though, make sure you don't cut your eyebrows so short that they can't lay flat or you will look a little strange.

Once you get to this point, just examine your brows. Only start by taking off a little bit from spots that have excess hair. Don't take too much off too soon. Just start with those spots that are overgrown and kind of scraggly looking.

Remember, if you mess up you will have to live with it for at least a month or so. Be careful and take your time.

Don't mess up your eyebrows and have to hide inside your home for the next two months or so. Just make sure that when you start plucking or waxing you only concentrate on a small spot at a time.

And remember, to get perfect eyebrow shape you probably just need to clean up what you already have rather than completely change the shape, width and arch of your eyebrows.

Four Helpful Tips To Avoid Hair Loss In Men

For many men it is inevitable that they will lose their hair as they get older. For a long time it was just accepted as one of those things in life that is going to happen and there is nothing that you can do to change it. However, over recent years science has advanced to such a degree that more information is available on what causes hair loss and as such they are finding some effective ways to stop it. With the help of science and research you can avoid hair loss in men.

It has always been believed that hair loss is a genetic condition but new research is suggesting that it may not be an inherited condition at all. One large cause of hair loss is an overabundance of the hormone DHT. When the body has more DHT than normal then it can lead to Follicular miniaturization which is when the hair shaft gets smaller and smaller and eventually becomes non-existent.

If you are beginning to lose your hair and are looking for a way to avoid hair loss in men then read the following tips which can help to slow down your hair loss.

1. Keep your scalp clean. Most people will wash their hair every day or two, but usually don't pay much attention to their actual scalp. When you shampoo your hair you should take the time to give your scalp a good massage to really remove any dirt or hair products from your scalp. If you get a build up of dirt or hair products it can prevent the hair follicles from growing properly

2. Your body will look its best and function at its best when it is healthy. Eating a good, nutritious diet is important for a healthy body and healthy hair. Your diet should include lots of copper, zinc and protein which you can get from foods like fish, eggs and green leafy vegetables. Also make sure that you stay hydrated by drinking lots of water.

3. Use volumizing shampoos to make your hair thicker. If you use them on a regular basis they will give the hair you have a boost.

4. Your doctor or pharmacy may also be able to help you with your hair loss problem. There are a number of over the counter and prescription products that are quite effective in slowing or stopping hair loss. It can be a matter of trial and error to find the right product that works for you as not every product works the same for every person. Prescription drugs may have some side effects so that is something else you will need to consider. Your doctor or pharmacist will be able to talk to you about any side effects and then you can make a decision as to what product to use.

If you suffer from hair loss today you have a much bigger advantage than men did many years ago. Scientists learn more and more all the time and the range of products available to help avoid hair loss in men is growing. Follow the tips above and you can slow down your hair loss and possibly even regrow some of the hair that you have already lost.
