Skin Care Products To Treat Acne Rosacea-Diffrent From Normal Acne

What is Acne Rosacea? Acne Rosacea is a skin condition in which pimples are accompanied by flushing cheeks and broken blood vessels. Although the name is Acne Rosacea, it is quite different from normal acne and as such the skin care treatments that are usually used to treat acne are not all that effective with this condition.

It is recommended that you visit a dermatologist to get a diagnosis of Rosacea. This is a hereditary condition and one that will develop over time. There is no cure for this condition but it is very manageable. You can take steps to avoid anything that triggers the condition by causing your blood vessels to open and close. Things like cheap red wine, too much sun, cola, coffee and other caffeinated drinks and spicy foods can trigger Acne Rosacea.

You can make some changes to your diet to help with this condition, such as increasing the amount of Vitamin C in your diet. Oranges, lemons, grapefruits and even parsley are all great sources of Vitamin C. These foods also contain bioflavonoids which are also beneficial by helping to promote healthy capillaries. If your capillary walls are week then the blood vessels will dilate and that is when you will get that embarrassing rosy glow to your cheeks. Other foods that are great to help with skin problems are cherries, blueberries, strawberries and grapes.

You will also want to watch what type of skin care products you use as some may irritate your skin more. If you find that any of your current skin care products irritate your skin then throw them away and try something different. It may be beneficial to use skin care products for sensitive skin. You may need to try some different products until you find one that works well and doesn't cause any irritation.

Shampoo and conditioner may also affect your skin and even though they are not directly on your face, they can pass onto your face when you sleep or when you sweat.

Some people find that their skin reacts more to particular foods so keep an eye on your diet and see if you can pinpoint any particular foods that you are reacting to. Although there is no scientific evidence to support it, but many people believe that dairy foods make their Rosacea much worse. It might be worthwhile eliminating dairy from your diet for a few weeks to see if your skin condition improves.

If you suffer from Acne Rosacea then you need to take really good care of your skin. Not only do you need to watch what type of skin care products you use, but you also need to be gentle when cleaning your skin. Don't use any abrasive skin scrubs but instead use cleaning milk or other mild, gentle cleansers. Some herbs may also help with your skin like thyme and camomile. These can be helpful by soothing your skin during a flare up.

There are some moisturizers that are specifically for reducing redness in the skin and also a good moisturizer should provide a protective barrier for your skin against the sun, wind and other elements. Looking after your skin may not cure Acne Rosacea but it will certainly reduce the symptoms.
