Eyebrow shaping is not just for women anymore. More and more men are beginning to realize that the woman in their life likes the idea of a guy who isn't a slob. Many women prefer men who act like they care (at least a little bit) about the way they look. Gone are the days when women were the only ones expected to take time with their appearance.
It doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, there are some easy to follow tips for eyebrow shaping that will make it easier to get a great look:
1. First of all, if you can afford it, have a professional do it. In most salons you can get an eyebrow wax at the same time you are getting a haircut. The exact price will vary from one part of the country to another but for the most part, adding an eyebrow wax should be a fraction of the price of your haircut.
2. If you just can't afford to have it done for you, or if you are just one of those people who like doing things themselves, you can do it at home too. You can either use tweezers to pluck your eyebrows or you can use hot wax. Both methods work and each has it's own pros and cons so it is really just a matter of finding the method you feel most comfortable with.
3. Another tip you must keep in mind is that you should go very slowly while shaping your eyebrows. If you mess up and remove a big section of one of your eyebrows it will look twice as dumb because you will also need to make your other brow a similar shape and thickness (if you don't, it will look even worse!).
Make sure you go slow and work only with one very small section at a time to avoid waxing or tweezing off too much hair on your eyebrow.
4. Use a magnifying mirror and go to a well lit room in your home.
5. Make sure your eyebrows are clean and dry before you start.
6. Take some scissors and carefully clip any overly long hairs.
7. Next identify the basic shape of your brows. Most people should only try to remove excess hairs that are not part of the main brow rather than go crazy and try to totally reshape their eyebrows.
8. Slowly and carefully remove any excess hairs above or below the main brow.
9. And don't forget to target those hairs that are between your eyes so you aren't stuck with a uni brow! Also, any stragglers to the sides of your eyes should be removed so you can end up with a fresh, neat eyebrow.
I've done it both ways; I have had my hairdresser do my eyebrow shaping for me and I have done it myself and I can tell you… she does a better job! If you can afford it, leave it to a professional. If you can't afford it, follow these tips.
