Heart Murmur Sounds- An Extra Lub Dub

The definition of heart murmur sounds is "any extra or unusual sound made by the heart as it beats." When listening to normal heart sounds you will hear a "lub-dub" sound when the heart beats. There should be no other sounds associated with the heart beat. If there are that means that there is something going on that is out of the ordinary and should be investigated fully.

The normal "lub-dub" is heard when the heart's valves open and close while pumping blood to either the lungs or to the rest of the body. When the valves are damaged and blood leaks through the valve or backs up in the heart is when the heart murmur sounds are heard.

You will only be able to hear heart sounds normal or abnormal with the use of a stethoscope. Depending on where the sound occurs in the heart beat, a diagnosis can be made specific to the area damaged.

The heart muscle has four chambers, the right and left atria and the right and left ventricle. There are valves that separate these chambers that help keep the blood flowing from one to the other and make sure the blood never flows backwards. Normally, blood goes from the right side of the heart to the lungs to get oxygen. Then it comes back to the left side of the heart to get distributed to the rest of the body.

On average, the heart beats at 80 beats per minute. That means that every hour of every day the heart beats 4800 times. That is 115,200 beats every single day of your life. Your heart is no slacker and if there is a problem with it and it doesn't work right then you will need treatment. Heart disease is no laughing matter and must be dealt with as soon as a diagnosis is made to give you the best chance at a good quality of life.

If your doctor as determined that you have a heart murmur then she should send you to see a heart specialist. The heart specialist will listen to your heart beat and determine when the murmur is heard. If the murmur is heard with the first "lub" sound then it is classified as a systolic heart murmur. If it is heard with the "dub" sound then it is classified as a diastolic heart murmur.

Another classification of heart murmurs is to say they are either innocent or abnormal. An innocent heart murmur is fairly common and usually does not cause any problems. An abnormal heart murmur is dangerous and are indicative of a serious health issue. If left untreated could cause heart attack, stroke or even death. If your doctor tells you he hears heart murmur sounds make sure that he refers you to that heart specialist.

Heart Mumur Hereditary-This Condition You Cant Control

If you have a heart mumur hereditary traits may have something to do with it. Many types of heart conditions are hereditary and can be caused by illness or lifestyle choices. a heart murmur is usually something a person is born with.

We all have a heart, you can not be alive without one. The heart has the job of circulating your blood through your arteries to your entire body. The blood comes to the heart through your veins and the heart sends the blood to the lungs to get oxygenated then back to the heart to get sent to all your organs to supply your entire body with the oxygen it needs to live.

When you go to the doctor for a physical, your doctor will listen to your heart beat with an instrument called a stethoscope. If the sounds your heart makes are normal then you do not have anything to worry about. If your heart makes extra or unusual sounds then there may be a problem that needs to be addressed.

Any extra or unusual sound could be an abnormality in the valves of the heart causing blood to leak through the valve at the wrong time. If someone else in your family also has this same defect then this is called heart mumur hereditary. Heart defects like a septal defect or heart valve malformations are probable causes of blood leaking through. If you are born with a small hole in your heart the same symptoms can occur, also.

Heart murmurs will sound like a whooshing sound or swishing sound besides the usual "lub-dub" sound normally heard. These unusual sounds will be heard at different times than the normal lub-dub sound. Depending on when these sounds are heard your doctor can tell what type of heart murmur you have and whether or not it is a dangerous type of heart murmur.

Your general practitioner may be able to hear the murmur but may not be skilled enough in the unusual sounds to differentiate between the two main types: innocent and abnormal. Innocent heart murmurs are just that, innocent. This means that this type of heart murmur is benign and will not cause further health difficulties in the future.

An abnormal heart murmur is the type that will cause you some health problems down the road. Your general practitioner should refer you to a cardiologist if she hears a murmur so more testing can be done. The cardiologist will first order an ECG, or electrocardiogram, To see the position of the heart murmur and when it occurs within the heart beat. This will tell the cardiologist what heart muscle structure is involved. If the damage is severe you may find yourself undergoing surgery to fix your heart mumur heredity problem.

Have You Tried Yoga Exercise For Weight Loss

If you are thinking of exercising to help lose weight you probably think that you need to do some sort of high cardio exercise. High cardio exercises aren't the only type of exercise for weight loss, yoga is one exercise type that you might want to consider. Most people think that yoga is slow and still and wouldn't help you to lose weight but is this really the case?

Yoga can actually help you to lose weight as well as give you many other health benefits. There are different types of yoga and some are more effective for weight loss than others. Yoga also works better if combined with other exercises to speed up weight loss and improve your overall health.

There are some types of yoga that are more aerobic like and give you a great cardio workout. With this type of yoga you will really work up a sweat and increase your heart rate and oxygen intake. This type of yoga still involved yoga poses but they are done with much quicker movements.

This aerobic type yoga is known as 'Power Yoga' or 'Hot Yoga'. Power yoga is usually done in a room that has a higher temperature than normal so that you sweat even more. Whether the excess heat does help increase weight loss is a subject of much debate, but the exercises themselves definitely work well for weight loss.

Vinyasa yoga, also known as flow yoga, is one of the best types to assist with weight loss. There are a number of different yoga styles even within the Vinyasa group. For example, Power yoga is Vinyasa yoga performed in a hot room.

One of the most popular Vinyasa yoga exercises is the Ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga yoga still uses the same yoga poses that are used in regular, slow paced yoga but it also combines some athletic movements.

The main difference between a fast paced yoga and a slow paced yoga is the speed of the movements between the poses. Also the time held in a post is not as long. So instead of moving slowly between poses and holding the pose for a certain time period, one would move much faster between poses and only briefly hold the pose. The movements between poses are much more athletic.

You shouldn't start out with a power yoga class if you are new to yoga. Start off with a regular yoga class as this will still have weight loss advantages. Yoga will also help tone your muscles and make your body more flexible.

If you have never done yoga before you may find it difficult to believe that this gentle form of exercise will possibly help with weight loss but it really does. When you are holding poses you are developing muscle control and balance. When you improve muscle tone and balance your body will burn calories much more efficiently.

When you practise yoga it will also benefit you when you do other types of aerobic exercises. As your body becomes more flexible and your muscles become more toned and stronger you will become more efficient at aerobic exercises.

It can be very beneficial to do some aerobic exercises two or three times a week and also do some yoga exercise for weight loss two or three times a week. You will be amazed at your weight loss results when you combine these exercise types.

Green Birthmarks -Laser Removal Most Effective

The most common green birthmarks removal laser is the 532nm. There are different grades of lasers for different areas of the body which produce different effects. Lasers are widely used in various fields of medicine like surgery and emergency medicine. The use of lasers is very effective and far less invasive than traditional surgical options and also allows faster healing and less time spent away from work recuperating.

Not only does the green birthmarks removal laser remove the port wine stain birthmarks it can also help to remove unwanted tattoos, as well. different color lasers remove different colors of tattoo ink and the green laser removes red, orange, pink, yellow and other colors in the pastel color family.

Some EMTs now carry with them on their appointed rounds a green pocket laser to help with trauma situation in the field. The green laser can sterilize a wound better than the traditional methods and much better than infrared lasers. If there is an area that is bleeding heavily then they can hold their pocket laser over the area for a short time , time enough to cause burning, and actually cauterize the bleeder.

The practicality of the green pocket laser is being questioned for in the field usage and though it may be a good idea some think that it is not as effective as traditional antiseptic techniques. Although, they are useful for sterilizing dressings before they are used to wrap, or pack, a wound in the field.

If you have acne, doctors are having wonderful success in reducing the appearance of acne and the scar that it leaves behind by using the green laser, or a combination of them. First, the problem area is numbed with a local anesthetic and then the green laser is is applied to the area in a slow, sweeping motion to cover the entire area. This helps reduce the amount of bacteria in the skin and lets the skin become it's own defense again, thus, acne and it's scars are greatly reduced.

We all know that acupuncture is gaining in popularity and may have even tried it. I know I have. My chiropractor is also an acupuncturist and has given me great relief from some muscle spasms I had at one time. Acupuncture is performed by inserting tiny needles into the skin to elicit certain responses from the body. Mostly acupuncture gets your "Chi" moving in the right direction and removes blockages that are caused by pain. No one deserves to live in pain, so go see your local acupuncturist and do not be afraid you will barely feel a thing.

The green birthmarks removal laser is also being experimented with in removing cancerous tumors in the body. With the ability to cut out the tumor, stop the bleeding by cauterization, and irradiate the underlying tissue all in one step. This procedure will save a lot of time and recovery period for cancer patients. It is currently being used as a prostate cancer treatment and may prove valuable in other forms of cancer, as well.

Get Rid Of Mucoid Plaque With Ejuva Cleanse

Are you suffering negative health effects from accumulated mucoid plaque?

The Ejuva Cleanse is a 4-6 stage intense all natural cleanse program designed to rid your body of this waste and restore your bodily systems to its optimum level. The term mucoid plaque, coined by naturopath Richard Anderson, is the product of years of accumulated waste and mucus solidifying and adhering to the walls of organs.

The accumulation of this plaque can prevent digestion, nutritional absorption and is possibly the source of many pathogens. There is much scientific debate as to the legitimacy of this plaque but naturopath practitioners recognize it as a real threat to our health.

After years of exposure to the various toxins, preservatives and pesticides, this plaque becomes thick and difficult for the body to eliminate without assistance. The components of the Ejuva Cleanse are much more potent than eating fresh fruits and vegetables alone. In fact the components are so effective that people who have been eating 100% raw foods for years still experience significant mucoid plaque elimination after cleansing with the Ejuva program.

The ingredients are 100% organic or wild and contain no fillers or bentonite. Bentonite clay powder is added (unscrupulously) to some intestinal cleansers to create the look of mucus and other material in stool. Not so with the Ejuva Cleanse.

So what exactly is mucoid plaque made of?

According to naturopathy, when poisons, toxins, and parasites remain in the body they can calcify and cause damage to the organs, the blood stream, and the brain.

* Poisons – can come from tap water or the pesticides found on unwashed food.

* Toxins- can come from alcohol, nicotine, caffeine and environmental pollution.

* Parasites and Bacteria – are often found in improperly cooked meats, poultry and dairy products. These parasites can live inside a host for several years undetected. When you consume the improperly cooked meat these organisms can wreak havoc on your immune and digestive system.

* Accumulated Waste- according to naturopaths mucus, fecal matter, and old dead blood cells collect in the walls of your intestine and bowels, and over time becomes become hard and sticky. This hard and sticky substance is mucoid plaque and it can make the body septic, cause energy loss and illness.

Your digestive tract can be adversely affected by excess fatty, rich or refined foods, sugar and lack of fiber and whole foods. Intestinal cleansing programs such as the Ejuva Cleanse aid in repairing the damage these substances cause to your small and large intestines. This is why regular cleansing is very crucial to overall health and maintaining the level of toxins in the body.

It is very common to women and its advance stages are diagnosed when the patient reaches 30 and above. It is said that the causes of this skin condition us yet to be discovered. Experts say that there are so many factors that can trigger this and the severity of the condition depends on the genes and family history of the condition.

Experts say that one of the probable causes of Rosacea is eating foods that may trigger it such as spicy foods, caffeine, alcohol and too much fatty foods. To those who are prone to developing Rosacea, they should consume the following foods on a regular basis:

1. Fruits. Studies show that fruits are perfect for people who want to take good care of their skin. Finding A Good Acne Skin Care Treatment-Its Not Only For Teenagers

Acne is very common in teenagers and most people think that once they have past those teenage years they won't suffer from acne anymore. The days of looking for a good acne skin care treatment will be over right?

Wrong!

While many people do stop having acne problems once they pass those teenage years, there are many people who will continue to have acne. Many people in their twenties, thirties, even forties will suffer from acne. Women will often suffer from acne when pregnant too due to the many hormonal changes that they go through. Fluctuating hormones when a woman reaches menopause can also cause acne to re-occur, even if the woman hasn't suffered from acne since she was a teenager.

Acne usually starts to occur when a person reaches puberty. The body contains sebaceous glands which produce oil that our body needs to keep our skin smooth and supple. During puberty these glands grow and usually the oil they produce is drained away but sometimes the pores can become blocked and then acne occurs.

The other problem one may get with pores are blackheads and these occur when the pores remain open. The pore then builds up with dirt and air and then gets a black appearance. Pores that are closed and blocked are white in appearance so they are whiteheads or more commonly known as acne.

Our skin has bacteria and that bacteria will feed on anything trapped in the pores which will cause spots to appear. Some people will only have a few spots while others will have large breakouts of pimples. Some pimples can become very big and painful and in rare cases may need antibiotic treatment.

To treat acne you need to use a good acne skin care product. You will want a product that contains salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide as these will fight the bacteria that is causing the underlying infection.

The problem with many acne skin care treatment products is that with long term use they can be quite damaging to the skin. They can be very harsh and leave the skin feeling itchy and inflamed. You should always follow the directions on any skin care product so that you don't overuse the product. Putting on more than suggested won't get rid of the pimples any faster, it will only cause more problems.

If you have tried over the counter acne treatment products without much success then you may need to consult your doctor who may be able to prescribe some antibiotic creams to clear your skin. If your acne is severe and painful then you may also require oral antibiotics.

Often it is a bit of trial and error to find a good acne skin care treatment product that will work well for you.

Fighting Alcoholism Health Concerns

In your battle against alcoholism, health concerns seem to mount that make overcoming alcoholism more urgent. The opponent is tough and may bring about a life of misery both mentally and physically. It could be useful to look at the dangers that accompany this addiction. It can bring about problems with nutrition, a type of arthritis, heart disease as well as liver and kidney disease, and a host of other ills that you would be better off not having and can avoid if you can decrease significantly or eliminate altogether your alcohol consumption.

Nutrition can be effected by too much drink. It can promote overeating at times and under-eating at others. It is easily abused and takes up needed space in stomachs. The problem with this is that it can cause malnutrition. Your body tends to believe that it has met it's daily caloric needs and gives you a feeling of being full. The bad thing about this is that your body then has to go without the proper nutrients it needs and your body suffers.

Gouty arthritis can be caused by alcoholism. Gouty arthritis is a very painful rheumatic disease. It will leave deposits of spiny and needle-like crystals of uric acid.

Fetal alcohol syndrome can have long-term negative effects on mental and physical growth, physical ailments and possible deformities, and developmental delays.

There are cardiovascular issues to be concerned about as there is a risk of heart disease and certain kinds of strokes. There is also the risk of high blood pressure that comes with alcohol abuse.

Alcohol abuse plays with your blood sugar levels in harmful ways causing it to go up and down. Hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia are common in alcoholics as well as diabetes.

Kidney disease is another risk. This will cause the kidneys to be enlarged and alters proper hormone function. The disease can also bring about kidney failure.

Liver disease is a concern as it can cause alcoholic hepatitis or alcoholic cirrhosis. Alcoholic hepatitis is the less serious and can be treated while cirrhosis is irreversible and may require a liver transplant.

There is a numbness and tingling that can be caused by alcoholism called neuropathy. Neuropathy can be painful and is associated with nerve damage.

The threat of dementia is real and can be brought about by several things associated with alcoholism.

Obesity is also a major concern which brings about a much broader range of health threats and concerns.

There are also mental health concerns that you must worry about. Alcoholism can bring about depression, anxiety, and insomnia.

While you may have already had a significant amount of damage done to your body, you are still better off trying to break your addiction. There are many of these which can be made less severe and are reversible once you have stopped drinking. There are others, though that have life long repercussions. Be sure that it is not too late. There are always benefits to being able to stop and those benefits will always outweigh any perceived positives. Hopefully you will research further the health problems that come with alcoholism and use them as weapons in your fighting alcoholism.

Facial Exercises Great For Helping You look Younger

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look your best, but time has a way of not making it easy. As the years go by, the muscles in your face start to lose their elasticity. It's this lack of resilience that leads to the formation of wrinkles. The muscles in the throat and neck are usually the first to succumb, and that can lead to a flabby, wrinkly neck. Luckily, there are facial exercises that you can do to delay the onset of this problem, or start to reverse it if it's already an issue.

Facial exercises are a much better alternative than risky plastic surgery procedures which come with a whole host of potential side effects. Exercises are natural, effective, and free. Just be sure to check with your doctor before starting the exercises, in case there are any underlying health concerns. Also, be sure to not overdo it; these exercises will work, but you don't want to risk hurting yourself when you do them.

Fold your comfortably while sitting on the floor. Keep your spine as straight as you can, maintaining good posture, and then slowly tilt your head back (you should feel a gentle stretching in the jaw muscles). Hold it back as you count to ten. Slowly return your head to the starting position. Do this exercise five times.

Keep the same seated position, relaxing your shoulders as you look straight forward. Turn your head to the left slowly, trying to get your chin as far as your shoulder. Count to five and then slowly return to your starting position. Repeat this process three times each for the right and left sides.

Maintaining the same seated position, gently tilt your neck toward the right. Hold as you count to five, return to your starting position and then tilt to the left. You will feel a nice stretch in your neck, but don't overdo it. Do these facial exercises three times per side.

Stay on the floor, but now move to your hands and knees. Gently lower your head toward the floor, making sure to keep your elbows, spine and neck straight. Take in a slow, deep breath. Then lift your head toward the ceiling and curve your back downwards as you slowly exhale. Do this exercise a total of five times.

These facial exercises can be done in just a few minutes, but do not rush through them. You should do them slowly to prevent injury, and the routine itself should be a soothing one. In fact, you can light a few candles and put on some relaxing music as you do them. Try to do these exercises every day, and you should start to see noticeable results within a few short weeks.
