The Secret To Fat Burning Diets

The secret to fat burning diets is to eat plenty of foods that are good for you and avoid the ones that are not so good. Sounds simple, right? So why don't we all do this naturally and easily?

The problem is that food companies have poured money into research to find out which tastes humans like best, and have created foods with those tastes that we crave and almost cannot resist. This spoils our taste buds so that we no longer appreciate the flavors of natural, healthy foods.

For example I remember when a certain brand of chips was first on the shelves of stores. The advertising slogan was, "When you pop [the top of the can], you cannot stop." It was true! They had somehow designed those chips so that when you ate one, you just wanted to keep on eating them…and on…and on…and on…until the whole can was gone.

So to follow fat burning diets successfully, it is important to stop eating what the food companies want you to eat, and concentrate on natural foods that come from a farm instead of a factory. That means unprocessed meats, some dairy and eggs, whole grains (like brown rice and whole grain pasta) and a ton of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Vegetables are the megastars of fat burning diets. They fill your stomach without adding a lot of calories to your meal, and at the same time, they contain almost everything that we need for nutrition. They are packed full of vitamins and minerals, and many of them contain a high amount of protein. In this respect they are better for you than fruit.

Of course, if you have chosen to follow a low carb diet, you will find that fruit and starchy vegetables are not encouraged. However, this does not mean that you should eat no vegetables at all. In fact, it is very important to get plenty of green vegetables along with other low carb veggies like mushrooms, tomatoes, eggplant and bell peppers. Eat the maximum quantity of vegetables that your low carb diet allows, and you will feel the benefit in terms of health as well as taste.

It is amazing what the result of this can be. If you stop eating sugared foods and artificial sweetener, you will soon find that carrots, potatoes and winter squash taste sweet to you. Fresh yellow corn may be too sweet. Soon, it will be time to try new vegetables that you didn't like before, because they may taste very different to you with your new way of eating.

It is easy to eat enough this way, too. Beginning most meals with a salad is a great way to fill the stomach. Watch out for your fat intake in the form of added oils, cheese and fatty meats, but remember that you do need some fat, both for reasons of health and because it makes us feel satisfied for longer. If you eat this way and do not lose weight, you probably have too much fat in the diet.

But in most cases you will find that your weight is dropping. That is the time to increase the level of exercise that you have in your daily routine. Pretty soon you will realize that you are on one of the most successful fat burning diets without even trying.
